The Football Association will withdraw their support for Gianni Infantino to be re-elected as FIFA president following his recent attempt to sell off stakes in the World Cup.
Infantino has been under heavy fire in recent days following the unsuccessful unveiling of his plans to sell off stakes in FIFA competitions to private investors, which was abandoned following a ferocious backlash.
The fallout from the ordeal is likely to have detrimental impact on Infantino's bid to remain in his post as FIFA president for another term.
And it has been claimed by The Times that the English FA will withdraw a previous letter of support backing Infantino to remain as president.
They follow the Welsh FA in doing so, with more likely to follow suit as football's other governing bodies are expected to try and oust Infantino from his post.
This development comes after earlier pressure on Infantino over his World Cup investment plan. In the FA's concerns over FIFA's World Cup sell-off plan, the governing body said it was "deeply concerned" by the proposal, while UEFA and CONCACAF have already rejected the idea, leaving Infantino facing a wider FIFA power crisis.
