Michael Carrick is willing to let a group of young Manchester United players leave the club this summer as part of the squad overhaul.
Carrick was given the reins permanently after making a significant impact as interim head coach and is ready to wave goodbye to some academy graduates.
United's pre-season tour has been notable for the impact of some young players, with Shea Lacey, Jack Fletcher and JJ Gabriel all catching the eye in the 2-1 friendly win over Atletico Madrid.
With some key players returning late after involvement in the World Cup, Carrick has taken the chance to assess the club's young talent. And while he is keen to hand opportunities to some, others haven't made the grade.
United have already offloaded André Onana (Trabzonspor, loan), Rasmus Højlund (Napoli, £43.2m), Casemiro (released), Tyrell Malacia (released), Jadon Sancho (released) and Tyler Fredricson (Lausanne Sports, loan), but need to wave goodbye to more players to free up room in their squad and on their wage bill.

Finding a buyer for Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee remains a priority, but BBC Sport says seven others have been told they can leave. The club are open to offers for Ethan Wheatley, Toby Collyer, Dan Gore, Radek Vitek and Harry Amass, while Jacob Devaney and Chido Obi are also facing uncertain futures.
England under-20 forward Wheatley has previously spent time on loan with Walsall, Northampton and Bradford. He is attracting attention from Everton, although their plan to put the 20-year-old into their under-21 squad isn't thought to be attractive to Wheatley.
Toby Collyer, who has previously been sent on loan with West Brom and Hull, was left out of the squad for the friendly against Atletico Madrid and has been told he is free to find a new club.
The 22-year-old midfielder was the only signing of the Ralf Rangnick era and appears unlikely to add to his 13 appearances for United.
Dan Gore, 21, spent last season on loan with Rotherham and has only made two appearances for the United senior team. With just one year left on his contract, a permanent departure appears likely.
Goalkeeper Vitek, 22, impressed on loan with Bristol City last season and has attracted plenty of interest in the transfer window. Like Altay Bayindir, he's been made available for transfer, with Karl Darlow signed on a free transfer to become Senne Lammens' back-up.
Amass is now back with United in pre-season after loan spells with Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich. The 19-year-old has featured in friendlies as Luke Shaw's back-up, but could be allowed to leave, with United targeting a left-back in the transfer window.
Newcastle's Lewis Hall is a target, while Racing Santander's Jorge Salinas is considered a viable alternative.
Midfielder Devaney, 19, could be sent away on loan again after a stint at St Mirren, while striker Chido Obi, 18, is yet to make a mark following a move from Arsenal in 2024.
Earlier background on Carrick's rebuild connects with this latest shake-up, with the club already moving on Casemiro, Rasmus Højlund, Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia and André Onana as the overhaul continues. The wider focus on Marcus Rashford's future and possible exits has also been building in recent reports, including transfer talk around Rashford and four possible departures.
