Yan Diomande transfer twist
Yan Diomande 'called in sick' at RB Leipzig after the club failed to respond to Real Madrid's most recent transfer offer. Talks stalled over the winger's future and now, Diomande is missing the pre-season friendly against Verl.
The winger's involvement in the Bundesliga side's Austria training camp has now been thrust into doubt. Diomande hoped to sidestep the journey ahead of a move, but was informed he was expected to travel, per Sky in Germany. Real were said to be taken aback by Leipzig's failure to respond, with the ex- Liverpool target eager to seal a switch to the Bernabeu . Diomande hopes that an agreement is reached soon.
While the Reds' chances of securing Diomande remain all-but-over, the uncertainty perhaps keeps a slim door open. Leipzig had been unwilling to part with Diomande before Real's pursuit gathered momentum, though.
Liverpool kept alert to Bradley Barcola situation
Liverpool have received encouragement regarding another target in recent days , however. Paris Saint-Germain have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of Monaco's Maghnes Akliouche, which could potentially clear the path for a Bradley Barcola departure.
The Ligue 1 giants' asking price may still prove too steep for the Reds, with a £145million valuation reportedly placed on the Frenchman. Yet, Barcola has apparently provided his verbal agreement to the move and PSG remain the sole hurdle left to clear.
The 23-year-old has two years left on his deal in France and it's suggested that he turned down an offer of discussions regarding an extension. Liverpool have not begun negotiations with PSG, but there has been some indication that the Champions League winners might ease their position on Barcola's valuation. The alternative figure mentioned remains a steep £128.5m.
