Verstappen reflects on Red Bull departures
Max Verstappen 'wishes' that a number of his former Red Bull colleagues had remained with the team. The Dutch-Belgian driver won four consecutive Formula 1 titles between 2021 and 2024, but a number of the backroom staff who rode the waves of success alongside him have since moved on.
Among them are coveted designer, Adrian Newey, who is now plying his trade with Aston Martin, as well as former team principal, Christian Horner, who was sacked last July. Race engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase, remains at the team, but has now agreed to join McLaren to take up a more senior position as of 2028.
A number of mechanics and engineers have also left the team, casting speculation on Verstappen's future as a result of restlessness through familiar faces coming and going.
