Anthony Joshua set for hundreds of millions in Tyson Fury blockbuster
Anthony Joshua will earn "hundreds of millions" from his long-awaited all-British blockbuster fight against Tyson Fury later this year, according to Matchroom's Barry Hearn. Joshua, 36, is expected to go up against Fury, 37, in a seismic heavyweight clash in November, providing both win their respective warm-up bouts this weekend.
Joshua is due to face Albania's Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, 24 hours after Fury goes in the ring with Poland's Mariusz Wach. Although Joshua has signed the contract to face Fury in November, the fight is yet to be announced and the wait is thought to be because both boxers need to come through their warm-ups unscathed.
Joshua is as short as 1/20 to beat Prenga, while Fury is priced up as low as 1/50 to get past Wach. Should both win, as expected, a gigantic 'Battle of Britain' is awaiting Joshua and Fury later this year, with the total prize fund set to be off the scale.
Reports have suggested that Joshua and Fury are poised to bank £100million each as part of the agreement, which could be formally announced as early as next week.
Watford-born Joshua, who last fought against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in December 2025, has an imperious record of 29 wins and four losses across his professional. Meanwhile, Fury's most recent fight was against Arslanbek Makhmudov in April 2026 and has lost just ONCE across his 38 professional bouts.
Both Joshua and Fury as seen as two of Britain's greatest-ever heavyweight fighters, with both former world champions, making November's proposed fight a must-not-miss should it go ahead as scheduled.
Hearn says the money is on another level
Although boxing promoter Hearn refused to reveal the total figures when asked how much Joshua and Fury are poised to earn, he did say it will be a "load of noughts and then quadruple it".
Speaking to The Mirror, Hearn said:
"Nothing I want to publicise but take a load of noughts and then quadruple it, and you've got somewhere near what he's gained. I mean, the money in boxing, especially with the Saudi involvement, Turki Al-Sheikh has made things happen that probably wouldn't have happened simply by the size of Percy's. "I mean, it's hundreds of millions in total, so I can't say that he's replaceable if he wasn't there. I don't know where the money would come from. I'm used to doing big paper news shows where you generate millions and millions, but this is on another level. "This is a global advert for Saudi and the facilities and the tourism and whatever. It's an international global field of play, and with that comes enormous money, which is great for the fighters."
Fears had grown about the fight potentially collapsing due to the fact no announcement has yet been made and the prospect of Joshua or Fury losing their warm-up fights. But Hearn doesn't expect any issues and is still confident the clash will go ahead as planned later in 2026.
When asked if the fight might not go ahead, Hearn added:
"No. I don't know if you've ever been hit on the chin by someone who weighs 17st... I haven't, and I don't want to. There's always the potential of a banana skin in boxing . History tells us that. I think it's unlikely in both cases, of course. "But Anthony Joshua, to his credit, he's not thinking beyond Saturday. He knows what's at stake here, a fight that he's wanted for 10 years has been signed for. All they have to do is deliver their respective victories, I believe that is a huge odds-on favourite."
The wait continues for the formal announcement, but if Joshua and Fury come through their respective bouts, the all-British showdown would create one of the biggest nights in heavyweight boxing in years.
