Joshua survives early scares before stopping Prenga
Anthony Joshua recovered from two knockdowns in the first round to KO Kristian Prenga. Joshua was fighting for the first time since he escaped death in a car crash last December.
He ensured the names of his two friends who died in the smash were sewn into the canvas in front of his red corner. But disaster struck inside seconds as Joshua hit the canvas. He gave a wry smile as he picked himself up.
But he was in trouble again when Prenga pinned him to the canvas. And he was counted again with 30 seconds of the round remaining but he clung on to hear the bell.
Joshua began the second round with far more authority and knocked Prenga down and out to ensure his fight with Tyson Fury rermains alive.
Kelly holds off Agyarko in thrilling title defence
Earlier, Josh Kelly defended his super-welterweight world title with a thrilling points win over Caoimhin Agyarko. Kelly won his belt from the dangerous Bakhram Murtazaliev earlier this year and opted to put it on the line against Belfast's Agyarko.
The Sunderland man dominated the contest from the opening bell, putting his challenger on the backfoot over the opening three rounds. Agyarko improved in the fourth session but Kelly stamped his authority back on the fight in the fifth, landing an inch-perfect uppercut.
But the challenger drew blood with his next attack, landing a right hand which gave the champion pause for thought - and a cut under his left eye. Agyarko was far more comfortable on the front foot by the sixth session and a left hand landed flush.
Kelly was then deducted a point for punching to the back of the head having already been warned. The challenger was in the ascendency heading into the second half and another right hand found its mark - but Kelly landed successive left hands in response.
Kelly began to breathe more heavily by the eighth round as a cut opened up on his right cheek. The champion was let off for a blatant low blow in the ninth round and right and left hands in the final minute of the session nicked him the round.
And Kelly's second wind continued into the 10th as he looked to grind down Agyarko. Kelly summoned his reserves in the penultimate round and landed a right hand flush which Agyarko took well.
Kelly's face was crimson and he was caught by a left as his challenger looked to seize his chance. The same shot in the dying seconds stole the round. Kelly ended the fight on the front foot before the judges gave him the nod with scores of 114-113, 115-112 and 115-112.
Sheeraz labours in majority decision win
Hamzah Sheeraz was a lacklustre winner in the second world title fight of the night, ultimately winning a majority decision over Simon Zachenhuber. Sheeraz only won his super-middleweight strap nine weeks ago in front of the Pyramids of Giza and looked laboured throughout his first defence.
