Fury vs Joshua will draw the most lucrative gate in British boxing history says Dana White

Dana White has declared that the Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua heavyweight clash will produce the most lucrative gate revenue ever recorded in British boxing history, speaking to Sky Sports as ticket sales began.

The long-anticipated bout takes place on December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. When tickets went on sale on Friday, the highest-priced regular seats were listed at £13,128, with White revealing the scale of demand almost immediately.

I think there's less than 700 tickets left. You can consider this thing a sellout already.

The Principality Stadium has a capacity exceeding 70,000 spectators. The ticket release triggered an extraordinary response, with more than half a million people queuing through Ticketmaster to secure their places for the heavyweight encounter. Thousands of tickets sold within the opening hour of the sale.

White emphasised the historic significance of the pairing when speaking to Sky Sports on Friday evening.

There were over 500,000 people in the queue. Incredible. But for our generation, two of the biggest, most famous heavyweights in boxing. And not even arguable it's the biggest UK fight ever between two British heavyweights.

Before sales commenced, Ticketmaster had confirmed that standard seating would range from £88.50 to £13,128. These figures excluded VIP hospitality packages, hotel and travel combinations, group discounts and concession pricing.

White is confident the event will eclipse all previous British boxing gate records.

Definitely. It will. I don't want to mis-speak here but we have this thing scaled for around $34 million,
he stated.
The UK is the right place for this fight to happen but it will have done well anywhere.

The premium ticket prices dwarf those of several other major global sporting occasions. The 2026 FIFA World Cup final saw some seats listed at £8,333, while the 2015 Floyd Mayweather versus Manny Pacquiao bout—which sold out in under a minute—had top face-value ringside seats priced at £4,982.

Fury's most recent London appearance came in April against Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where ringside seating cost £3,000. His 2022 Wembley encounter with Dillian Whyte saw ringside tickets priced considerably lower at £2,250.

For the Joshua showdown, the cheapest pitch-level seats start at £345, with other options ranging between £700 and £900. Upper terrace tickets in the stadium's highest sections began at £205.20. Secondary market listings on StubHub showed ringside seats commanding prices exceeding £8,000.

The ringwalks are scheduled for approximately 1am local time to accommodate the international audience watching the contest.

The fight contract contains no rematch clause, though both parties retain the option to negotiate a second meeting should they wish.

The bout was announced as a joint promotion between Saudi financier Turki Alalshikh's The Ring and American combat sports promoter Dana White. However, Eddie Hearn, who represents Joshua, has publicly disputed White's involvement in the event.

White, the founder of the UFC, outlined his contribution to the production.

Helped them with the gate, putting everything together. We're going to do all the production, produce the show and do what I do every Saturday.
