Ellie Scotney out of first featherweight world championship fight as she withdraws injured from Tiara Brown WBC title clash

Ellie Scotney will not compete in her scheduled WBC featherweight world title bout with Tiara Brown after an injury has ended her participation in the November 8 contest.

The British fighter's withdrawal marks a significant setback in what would have been her debut at featherweight. Earlier this year, Scotney delivered an impressive performance to defeat Mayelli Flores and claim the undisputed super-bantamweight championship in April, before stepping up in weight for this title opportunity.

The November 8 card at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas will proceed with several high-profile bouts still intact. Alycia Baumgardner's IBF lightweight world title defence against undefeated challenger Elif Nur Turhan remains the headline attraction, with Baumgardner having stepped up to lightweight for this showdown. The event will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Ramla Ali's pursuit of the vacant WBO and IBF super-bantamweight world titles against New York's undefeated Mikiah Kreps has been elevated to chief support status following Scotney's withdrawal. This represents a significant career opportunity for Ali, who will face an opponent without a loss on her record.

Mexico's Irma Garcia will defend her IBF and WBA super-flyweight titles in a unification clash against Nataly Delgado, adding another world title bout to the card's impressive lineup.

MVP co-founders Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul released a statement acknowledging Scotney's absence.

We're disappointed Ellie Scotney is unable to compete, we wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her and Tiara Brown back in the ring soon,
they said.

The promotional team emphasised the strength of the revised card.

Ramla Ali now has the biggest opportunity of her professional career against an undefeated Mikiah Kreps, while Irma Garcia and Nataly Delgado will put their world titles on the line in another major unification bout.

Additional talent has been added to the preliminary card to strengthen the undercard.

We're also adding more MVP talent to the preliminary card, including Brittany Sims and newly-signed Shera Mae Patricio competing for a world title, along with undefeated rising star Nat Dove returning for a highly-anticipated rematch.

Bidarian and Paul concluded their remarks by highlighting the overall quality of the event.

Sunday, November 8 is loaded with high-stakes fights featuring some of the best talent in boxing.

Ramla Ali versus Mikiah Kreps will be broadcast live on Sky Sports on Sunday, November 8.
