Deontay Wilder is being considered for a spot on the undercard when Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua finally meet at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Friday, December 11, according to Sky Sports.
The long-awaited British heavyweight showdown will see Fury and Joshua contest the WBA world heavyweight championship. Wilder, the former WBC champion, could add another layer of intrigue to what is already shaping up to be a blockbuster event in Wales.
Recent developments suggest that negotiations are progressing for Wilder to face cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia on the same bill, with Dana White confirming ongoing talks for the heavyweight clash. However, an official confirmation of his opponent and participation remains pending.
Wilder's most recent outing came in April when he secured a points victory over British contender Derek Chisora at The O2 in London. The American has now set his sights on returning to British soil for what could be a significant bout on the December 11 card.
The Bronze Bomber's history with both main event fighters adds considerable narrative weight to his potential involvement. He engaged Fury in three separate contests, during which he floored the Brit multiple times before suffering two consecutive stoppage defeats.
Wilder also maintains a long-standing rivalry with Joshua, though the pair have never settled their dispute inside the ring. A clash between either fighter and Wilder on the undercard would provide compelling additional intrigue to an already star-studded evening.
