FIFA probe Argentina after final whistle scenes
FIFA is set to investigate Argentina's behaviour after the final whistle at the World Cup final.
Lionel Scaloni's side sparked widespread outrage for the way they handled the 1-0 defeat to Spain at the MetLife Stadium, as players were seen getting violent and even allegedly punching some of their opponents.
Leandro Paredes was shown a red card following the full-time whistle after placing his hand around Spain defender Eric Garcia's throat before kicking him to the floor. The Argentina midfielder then got into a heated confrontation with Gavi, appearing to have a swipe at his head before pushing him to the ground.
Also involved in a post-match scuffle was Argentina defender Nahuel Molina, who appeared to take a swipe at Rodri as the Spain captain ran to celebrate his side's win. Molina seemed to punch Rodri's stomach which caused a furious reaction from the Manchester City star, who came rushing over to confront him.
As well as that, a furious Nicolas Otamendi, the 38-year-old Argentina defender, then himself had a word with Rodri to speak about his and Aymeric Laporte's pre-match comments around the referee. It came before Argentina coach Roberto Ayala, who had a glittering playing career, appeared to throw a punch at Spain attacker Dani Olmo with Garcia then forced to step in and split them apart.
But now, in response to Argentina's behaviour, FIFA have launched an investigation, according to Sky Sports.
