Manchester United return to blue for 2026/27 away kit
Manchester United will wear blue next season as their new away strip for 2026/27 has been unveiled, returning to a classic look. Four-time chart-topping rapper Stormzy debuted the kit during the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina as the United fan sported the new blue shirt on his Instagram story. New signings Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos and Karl Darlow will line up in the blue strip with the Red Devils well into a busy summer schedule.
After a few turbulent years, Michael Carrick has his sights on sparking a fightback to take United back to England and Europe's top table. The fresh adidas shirt is now available through retailers including Fanatics, with United describing it as a design that "revisits one of the club's most iconic away identities." United have a long history of sporting a bold blue away kit, though this marks their first return to that distinctive style since the 2016/17 season under José Mourinho - a look that was a regular fixture throughout the 1980s.
The kit features the classic adidas trefoil logo rather than the performance logo found on the home shirt, complemented by a red and white trim.

It is available now through retailers including Fanatics, Kitbag, and the Man United Store, with prices starting at £40 for children and £85 for adults. "Featuring the adidas Trefoil logo, the jersey combines elite performance innovation with a strong connection to football culture, celebrating a look that has long resonated on and off the pitch. "Built on a bold royal blue base, the jersey brings together familiar foundations with refined textures and subtle accents, delivering a design that retains the clarity and confidence long associated with Manchester United on the road. "A central element of the jersey is the engineered tonal stripe running throughout the fabric, adding depth and movement to the design. "Red and white detailing frames the look across the V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs, creating a sharp contrast against the deep blue base. "The adidas three stripes sit prominently on the shoulders in red, adding a striking athletic edge, while the club crest sits over the heart, paired with the adidas Trefoil logo, balancing tradition with contemporary design cues. "Designed for elite performance, the jersey features lightweight, body-mapped 3D engineered fabrics that enhance fit and freedom of movement."
