Arsenal eye Vinicius Junior move
Arsenal are interested in signing Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior in what would be a blockbuster transfer move. The Gunners are exploring a move for Vinicius, 26, whose contract in Madrid expires next summer. The Brazilian's future is therefore uncertain and he features on Arsenal's shortlist in their attempts to sign a wide forward during the summer transfer window.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta recently missed out on signing Morgan Rogers, who's joined Chelsea in a record-breaking £117million deal. A bombshell report from the Athletic states that Arsenal would be keen on signing Vinicius if he doesn't sign a new deal with Real. Their interest is at an early stage but the move has been approved at all levels within Arsenal. Talks between Arsenal and Real haven't taken place, but the La Liga giants could look to cash in on Vinicius rather than risk letting him go on a free transfer in 2027. The report adds that the winger would be due a significant loyalty bonus next season, having been at the Bernabeu for eight years.

Vinicius is fresh off starring for Brazil at the World Cup, although he wasn't able to help them go beyond the round of 16. Having started all five of their games, the 26-year-old scored four goals for Carlo Ancelotti's side before they were knocked out by Norway. Last term, Vinicius and Real went trophyless for the second season in a row, despite him scoring 22 goals across all competitions.

Jose Mourinho has taken over in the Spanish capital and there are doubts over how important Vinicius is to his plans. Arsenal also want to sign a striker this summer, with Julian Alvarez and Ollie Waktins linked.
After winning the Premier League title, the Guners' co-chairman, Josh Kroenke, said in May:
When you win something, the sun's still going to come up the next day.
You've got to get back to work and there are many teams trying to gain on you, including some historically great ones around the Premier League. We're going to look to strengthen because we know teams around us are going to get better. If you're not trying to continually evolve and improve, you're standing still.
