Liverpool transfer picture shifts as pre-season creates urgency
Liverpool's pre-season is well underway, adding a sense of urgency to their ongoing transfer activity. So far, the Reds have only signed Victor Munoz from Osasuna.
In an off-season that needed the Anfield outfit to replace several first-team stars, including Mohamed Salah and Ibrahima Konate, fans have been alarmed by the club's seeming inaction. That now looks to be changing.
For much of the summer, Liverpool have been linked with mega-money swoops for PSG's Bradley Barcola and RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande, and today's latest sees movement on both deals, with good and bad news for Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola.
Barcola signals PSG exit intention
Liverpool target Bradley Barcola has indicated he wants to leave the reigning European champions PSG. The Reds have been chasing the winger for some time and French outlet Mercato has said the player, who has two years left on his contract in Paris, is no longer in discussions with his club over a new deal.

A major obstacle for Liverpool, however, is the whopping price tag PSG have slapped on the attacker. PSG believe that a staggering £140million is a fair reflection of his valuation, given his profile and the current market, citing Morgan Rogers' recent move to Chelsea.

Latest Reds news and more on our dedicated Facebook page The Daily Mail has reported that the Reds are seeking a compromise on the £140m valuation, with the France international open to holding talks with Liverpool.
The Reds turned to Barcola as they look to find Mohamed Salah's successor. The Egyptian left the club this summer and their attempts to sign Ivorian winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig failed, who could now be on his way to Real Madrid.
Real Madrid move for Diomande gathers pace
Madrid have reportedly agreed a deal in principle to sign Liverpool transfer target Diomande. The Spanish side have agreed a deal to sign the Ivory Coast international from RB Leipzig, after finally reaching an agreement with the Bundesliga club.

Liverpool had been linked with a move for the 19-year-old and explored a deal earlier in the summer. However, the Reds were unwilling to meet Leipzig's asking price, seeing an £85m bid turned down and not returning with an improved offer.
PSG were also keen amid claims that Diomande had agreed personal terms, but they did not meet the transfer fee. Real's £85.4m bid for Diomande was rejected by Leipzig on Friday. Los Blancos have made a second bid and negotiations are underway, according to talkSPORT.
Diomande is believed to have agreed a five-year deal with the Spanish giants.
