Tottenham and Everton pursue dual transfer as Ndiaye and Richarlison talks advance

Tottenham and Everton are locked in advanced negotiations involving two attacking players, with Spurs targeting winger Iliman Ndiaye while the Toffees pursue Richarlison in a complex transfer sequence.

The north London club have made their move for Ndiaye, the Everton forward, as they seek to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer deadline. Everton, meanwhile, are preparing an attractive package to bring Richarlison back to Goodison Park, having previously sold the Brazilian to Spurs.

Ndiaye's departure from Everton hinges on the fee being acceptable to the club, though his negotiating position has weakened considerably. The 26-year-old has turned down multiple contract extension proposals from the Merseyside outfit, signalling his desire to move on. Everton are set to demand around £70million for Ndiaye, with interest from several quarters.

Manchester City had also monitored Ndiaye as a potential forward recruit, but Spurs appear to be moving decisively to secure the player ahead of other suitors.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi revealed on Saturday that Richarlison is among three players who have formally requested departures before the window closes.

De Zerbi has made signing a new forward a priority for the club in the closing stages of the transfer window. Chelsea's Pedro Neto had featured on Spurs' radar, but the club's focus has now shifted toward pursuing Ndiaye as their primary attacking target.

Man City open Liverpool negotiations for Gakpo

Manchester City have initiated formal discussions with Liverpool regarding the availability of winger Cody Gakpo, intensifying competition for the Netherlands international.

Liverpool face a decision on Gakpo's future given that City's approach has arrived relatively late in the transfer window. One source told Sky Sports News that momentum in negotiations has shifted toward Manchester City, despite Tottenham's earlier interest in the player.

Talks are progressing on personal terms for Gakpo, with City keen to move quickly on the deal. Liverpool are simultaneously advancing their own transfer business, preparing to complete the signing of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain for an initial £106m with a potential £123m in total add-ons.

The Reds have also already brought in Victor Munoz from Osasuna earlier in the summer transfer window, as they reshape their squad ahead of the new season.
