Sky Sports has confirmed a new long-term strategic tie-up with The Fast and the Curious podcast, timed to land just before Formula 1 roars back into life this weekend with the Dutch Grand Prix.
Since its launch in 2023, The Fast and the Curious has carved out a loyal and lively following by presenting Formula 1 in a way that feels open, fun and easy to dip into. Fronted by Betty Glover, Christian Hewgill and Greg James, the show has earned a reputation for blending sharp analysis, exclusive chats and behind-the-scenes access with plenty of humour and genuine curiosity about the sport.
That mix has allowed the podcast to welcome newcomers into the F1 world while still giving die-hard fans a fresh angle on a sport they already know inside out.
At the heart of the new partnership is a shared ambition to widen Formula 1's audience, pairing the podcast's distinctive tone with Sky Sports' extensive coverage and paddock access.
The tie-up is expected to open up further storytelling opportunities, putting fans in touch with the personalities behind the sport and giving listeners a closer view of the action than they've had before.
Billy McGinty, Sky Sports director of F1, explained the thinking behind the move.
We are always looking to innovate so this partnership offers something genuinely new and exciting for Sky Sports.
Alongside unlocking commercial benefits, Greg, Betty and Christian have a brilliant ability to relate to the everyday fan, so it presents a great opportunity on both sides to reach new audiences and grow fandom together.
Greg James, who describes himself as the podcast's 'team principal', likened the deal to a mid-season car upgrade.
This is a very large mid-season upgrade! Adding a Sky Sports power unit to our podcast is so exciting.
When we started The Fast and the Curious, my aim was to create the kind of Formula 1 podcast I've always wanted to listen to; one that was knowledgeable without being intimidating, entertaining without taking itself too seriously, and welcoming to everyone, particularly new fans who wanted to find their gang.
Partnering with Sky Sports gives us the opportunity to build on everything we've created so far while staying true to what makes the podcast special. We can't wait to see where we can take the show together.
Practically, the partnership will mean cross-promotion between the two outlets, including joint social media content and The Fast and the Curious material appearing across Sky's digital platforms.
Longtime listeners needn't worry about the show losing its identity, though. Betty, Christian and Greg will keep bringing the same chemistry, curiosity and love of Formula 1 to every episode as before.
A recurring feature of the podcast has been inviting F1 drivers on as guest co-hosts, leading to some memorable moments - from discovering Kimi Antonelli was still at school, to Ollie Bearman's brush with 'credit card fraud' that saw the hosts jokingly have him escorted out of Silverstone by security, through to a more reflective conversation with Lewis Hamilton about wanting the sport to feel welcoming to LGBTQ+ people. The trio are expected to keep unearthing these kinds of stories from the biggest names on the grid.
How the partnership fits into Sky's wider F1 push
This tie-up doesn't exist in isolation. Sky and Formula 1 struck a separate multi-year broadcast rights extension on 6 May 2026, confirming Sky Sports as the exclusive live broadcaster of F1 in the UK, Ireland and Italy well into the next decade, according to Formula1.com.
Sky has also been building out its F1 podcast stable more broadly, with The F1 Show already offering its own mix of analysis, expert opinion and behind-the-scenes stories as part of the network's 2026 season coverage. Sky's official podcast listings also include The F1 Show alongside its wider Formula 1 output, according to Sky Sports, underlining how the broadcaster is expanding its audio presence around the sport rather than relying solely on live television.
What happens next
Formula 1 resumes after its summer break with a Sprint weekend at Zandvoort, and Max Verstappen will be chasing home glory while Kimi Antonelli looks to defend his championship lead over Hamilton and George Russell.
According to Sky Sports' own preview of the weekend, every session from Zandvoort will be shown live between Friday 21 and Sunday 23 August 2026, with Sprint Qualifying on the Friday, the Sprint itself on the Saturday and the Grand Prix at 2:00pm on the Sunday, as reported by Sky Sports. That same coverage plan continues to promote NOW streaming and the Sky Sports app as ways for fans without a Sky subscription to follow the action, per the same report.
Fans can stream Sky Sports via NOW with no contract required, and can cancel at any time.
