Purchased as a €200,000 yearling, Jessica arrives at Wolverhampton off the back of a second-place finish at Newmarket last month, a form line that reads particularly well given that the winner of that contest, Beguiled, is entered in the Fillies' Mile. David Egan takes the ride for Amo Racing, and according to At The Races racecards, she is the clear market leader in a Class 3 GBB Race over 7 furlongs 36 yards on standard Tapeta, with 23 entries declared.
Phalanx Nation, representing trainer Archie Watson, brings solid form to the contest having finished third on both of her starts to date. The filly has been absent since May and will need to shake off the ring rust if she is to break her duck here, though she is entered in the Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy in October, suggesting connections have high hopes for her future. Iris Olivia, ridden by Rossa Ryan, showed promise on her debut and appears to have the scope to progress further.
Lingfield 14:50 - Storm Force favoured to extend winning run
At Lingfield, Storm Force takes on three rivals in the Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Novice Stakes, a Class 4 Polytrack contest over 6 furlongs 1 yard. James Doyle partners the Wathnan Racing runner, who arrives fresh from a success at Southwell where he impressed with a dominant display.
Trained by Richard and Peter Fahey, Storm Force represents only the third runner the Fahey stable has sent to Lingfield in five years, underlining the significance of this assignment.
