Somerset's Craig Overton and Sophie Luff have secured the top individual prizes at the 2026 PCA awards in partnership with Toyota, with emerging England talents Sonny Baker and Tilly Corteen-Coleman also earning significant recognition at the ceremony held at Exhibition White City.
Overton delivered a standout performance across the awards, collecting four major honours in a single evening. The 32-year-old claimed the PCA Men's Player of the Year trophy, the PCA Men's Domestic Overall MVP award, the Rothesay County Championship Player of the Year accolade, and secured selection in the IG PCA Men's Team of the Year, where he captains the XI.
His all-round excellence this season has been remarkable. Across all three formats, Overton accumulated 951 runs, claimed 76 wickets and took 45 catches. According to the PCA's official announcement, he finished with 680.08 MVP points and 352.05 bowling points, topping the bowling table. His achievements mark him as the first Somerset player to win the Men's Player of the Year award since Nick Compton in 2012, overcoming strong competition from Joe Clarke, George Hill and Dan Lawrence.
A particularly memorable moment came during the Vitality Blast quarter-finals, when Overton struck an unbeaten 79 to guide Somerset to Finals Day.
It's a phenomenal feeling. To be chosen by your peers to win this award is very special; it means so much to me. To be able to put in consistent performances has made it a great year. My bowling ticked along and after I scored that hundred at Essex in the second game of the season my form with the bat carried on throughout the summer. The quarter-final against Yorkshire was where I felt like this year is the one where everything's going my way and everything clicked.
I felt like I got in a groove where my body was in a good spot, not 100 per cent because of the schedule, but mentally I felt like I was in a great spot to be able to go out and perform when games come along near enough every other day.
Somerset completed a remarkable double as their captain Luff also secured the player-voted Toyota PCA Women's Player of the Year award. The 32-year-old becomes the first winner of this honour since Eve Jones in 2021 who has not represented England internationally. She was also selected in the Metro Bank PCA Women's Team of the Year, marking her second appearance in the team following her previous selection in 2021.
Luff's consistent excellence throughout the summer was evident in her run-scoring. She amassed more than 1,000 runs during the domestic season, and according to PCA records, recorded 341 MVP points, including 536 runs in the Women's One Day Cup. Her performances extended to The Hundred, where she won the competition with Trent Rockets.
It's super special people have voted for me after the performances and impact they feel I've had this year. It means that I'm doing things in the right way, and people think highly of you. I've always been a leader that wants to lead from the front, but I think people are seeing that play out in games now. I think this year I've just showcased what I'm capable of.
Hampshire and England's Sonny Baker claimed the Toyota PCA Men's Young Player of the Year award following a breakthrough year that culminated in his Test match debut against New Zealand at the Kia Oval. The 21-year-old has already made an international impact, taking 10 wickets for England, with six of those coming in IT20 cricket. His achievement makes him the first Hampshire player to win this award since its introduction in 1990.
Left-arm spinner Tilly Corteen-Coleman earned the Toyota PCA Women's Young Player of the Year award after a year that saw her secure both IT20 and ODI debuts for England. Beyond her international breakthrough, she impressed domestically for Surrey and in The Hundred with Southern Brave.
Former England captain Heather Knight was honoured with the PCA Outstanding Contribution Award in recognition of her exceptional dedication to the game throughout her career. The ECB also announced that former England batter Tammy Beaumont would receive their Special Merit Award following her stellar international career.
Additional award winners
According to the PCA's official records, Jess Jonassen was named Women's Domestic Overall MVP and One Day Cup Women's Player of the Year, whilst Will Rhodes claimed the Men's One Day Cup Player of the Year honour. Maia Bouchier topped the women's team MVP standings with 375 points and 1,312 domestic runs.
The men's PCA Team of the Year featured seven debutants alongside Overton's captaincy, reflecting the emergence of fresh talent within the domestic game.
