Craig Bellamy has brought back Leeds winger Harry Wilson and defender Joe Rodon to the Wales squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures in November, according to Sky Sports.

The Dragons will face Norway away on Saturday November 14 in Oslo, followed by a sold-out home encounter with Portugal at Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday November 17. These fixtures come as Wales look to improve their standing in Group A4 of the Nations League.

Wilson, who plays for Leeds United, had withdrawn from the previous international camp in September due to a quadriceps injury. Rodon, his club team-mate at Leeds, appears to have recovered from a hamstring problem sustained during the 1-1 draw with Brentford on August 30.

Manchester United goalkeeper Karl Darlow also returns to the squad, while Southend United's Joe Duncan, on loan from Bristol City, earns his first senior call-up. Cardiff City midfielder Rubin Colwill receives his first selection since November of the previous year, and Kai Andrews, currently on loan at Oxford United from Coventry City, makes his comeback to the squad for the first time since June.

Wales' recent form and campaign status

Wales opened their Nations League campaign with disappointing results, losing 0-1 away to Portugal on September 24 and then suffering a 0-2 defeat away to Denmark on September 27, according to UEFA. The team bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Norway on October 1, but then lost 0-1 to Denmark on October 4, leaving them third in the group.

The Nations League represents a significant return to competitive football for Wales, who missed out on qualification for the 2026 World Cup, making these matches crucial for rebuilding momentum under Bellamy's management.

Squad implications and tournament structure

The full 26-player squad includes goalkeepers Karl Darlow of Manchester United, Danny Ward of Wrexham, and Joe Duncan. The defensive line features Jay Dasilva from Coventry City, Jayden Lienou of Leeds United, Ben Davies of Tottenham Hotspur, Chris Mepham of West Bromwich Albion, Joe Rodon, Ben Cabango of Swansea City, Neco Williams of Nottingham Forest, and Connor Roberts of Burnley.

Midfield options comprise Ethan Ampadu of Leeds United, Josh Sheehan of Bolton Wanderers, Kai Andrews, Rubin Colwill, Joel Colwill of Cardiff City, Harry Wilson, and Liam Cullen of Leicester City. The forward contingent includes Cian Ashford of Cardiff City, Brennan Johnson of Everton, Sorba Thomas of Hull City, Lewis Koumas of Liverpool, Kieffer Moore of Wrexham, Mark Harris of Oxford United, Dan James of Leeds United, and David Brooks of Bournemouth.

The tournament structure means that if Wales finish in the top two of Group A4, they will progress directly to the quarter-finals. A third-place finish would force them into a relegation play-off against a team from League B, with both matches scheduled for March. Should they finish bottom of the group, they face either a relegation play-off or direct relegation from the Nations League.

Upcoming fixtures

Wales are scheduled to play Norway away on November 14 and host Portugal on November 17, with both matches forming part of the final group stage fixtures, according to UEFA. The Portugal match at Cardiff City Stadium is already sold out, underlining the importance of these encounters for the national team's campaign.
