Liverpool have finalised the acquisition of Bradley Barcola following an extended transfer saga with Paris Saint-Germain.
The France international has put pen to paper on a five-year agreement at Anfield. The Merseyside club will hand over £106m in guaranteed funds, with performance-related add-ons capable of pushing the total package to £123m.
The two clubs had spent much of the summer at loggerheads over valuation. PSG had initially demanded approximately £145m for their winger, but negotiations eventually narrowed the gap. Barcola had reached a verbal agreement with Liverpool in late July as talks progressed, and the club prepared a £110m bid before PSG eventually slashed their asking price to £128m in early August.
Barcola now stands as manager Andoni Iraola's third significant arrival of the transfer window, following centre-back Ronald Araujo and midfielder Victor Munoz. Jeremy Jacquet, who joined during the winter window, completes the recent recruitment drive.
In terms of Liverpool's all-time transfer expenditure, only one deal surpasses this signing. Alexander Isak's arrival from Newcastle United last summer cost the club £125m, making Barcola the second-most expensive purchase in the club's history.
