Mohamed Salah's staggering new salary revealed as Liverpool hero agrees special clause
Mohamed Salah is in line for an annual salary of £14.5million with Trabzonspor - and that's before lucrative, performance-based bonuses. The 34-year-old only signed a two-year extension with Liverpool last April, but mutually agreed to part ways with the club this summer as he looks to the next stage of his career.
As a result, a number of clubs were linked with making a move for the Egypt star with interests coming in from the likes of Saudi Arabia and Italy. In the end, however, Salah opted to sign the dotted line for Trabzonspor in a deal which will see him through until 2028.
There, Salah will pick up a salary of £14.5m each season, made up of an £8.5m wage and £6m from signing fees, as revealed by Trabzonspor on a public disclosure platform. He will also see a boost in the form of bonuses, should he hit performance-related KPIs over the course of the season.
Salah has also agree a clause which will see hum pocket a 20 per cent cut of any revenue generated by Trabzonspor relating to his likeness. It means that the forward will likely be in line for a huge sum from shirt sales bearing his name and number, as well as special-line items released relating to him.
Speaking about the move after being welcomed by tens of thousands of fans in Trabzon, Salah shared his commitment to his new club.
