The Spanish player sank a 15-foot par-save on the closing hole, allowing her and rookie Julia Lopez Ramirez to secure a half-point against world number one Nelly Korda and Lauren Coughlin. This dramatic finish prevented Angela Stanford's American side from claiming an opening-day advantage.
Both teams had shared the spoils in the morning foursomes before repeating that result in the afternoon session. The tie leaves the contest level after the opening day for only the second time in its history.
Captain Anna Nordqvist chose to retain the same two pairings that had drawn their morning foursomes matches for the afternoon fourballs. However, Celine Boutier and Nanna Koerstz Madsen suffered a heavy defeat, losing 5&3 to Megan Khang and Alison Lee.
Charley Hull and Lottie Woad appeared to be heading towards victory when they established a three-hole lead with seven holes remaining. Yet Yealimi Noh and Angel Yin staged a comeback to claim a share of the points.
Mimi Rhodes and Nastasia Nadaud made an impressive start to their Solheim Cup debuts, defeating Allisen Corpuz and Auston Kim 2&1 to secure a full point for Europe.

I think not losing today is important. It's 4-4 for the day, so big momentum going into tomorrow. Hopefully we can take that into tomorrow's foursomes and win both the morning and afternoon sides.
The stakes in the Netherlands
This is the 20th edition of the Solheim Cup, with Europe hosting the United States at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, near 's-Hertogenbosch, from 11–13 September 2026. The United States holds an 11-8 all-time advantage in Solheim Cup competition, and they need 14 points to retain the trophy, while Europe require 14½ points to regain it.
Nordqvist has built her squad around established players and promising newcomers, with Hull making her eighth consecutive appearance for Europe. The captain's selections have been carefully considered to balance experience with fresh talent.
Television coverage and schedule
Sky Sports Golf will broadcast at least 12 hours of live coverage across the first two days. On Saturday, coverage begins at 6am, with the opening foursomes match teeing off at 6.40am (7.40am local time). The afternoon fourballs are scheduled to start at 12.05pm UK time, with coverage continuing until the final putt is holed.
Sunday's singles matches will be shown from 9am on Sky Sports Golf, with the opening tee shot at 10.10am. All three days of the competition will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Golf, with viewers able to watch Team Europe's bid to regain the trophy exclusively on the channel.
