Aramco Korea Championship: Miyu Yamashita produces course-record finish to clinch Ladies European Tour title

Miyu Yamashita delivered a masterclass on the final day of the LET's Aramco Korea Championship, posting a stunning course record of 63 (-9) to secure victory by three strokes and finish on 22 under par at New Korea Country Club.

The world No 5 had held the lead since the halfway point and maintained her flawless record on the greens, remaining bogey-free throughout the tournament. Her commanding performance on Sunday capped off a dominant week in South Korea.

Yamashita's final round began promisingly with birdies on the third, fifth, eighth and 10th holes, positioning her perfectly with seven holes remaining. Yet the Czech Republic's Sara Kouskova remained a genuine threat, staying close throughout the day.

The 25-year-old major champion responded by rolling in three birdies across four consecutive holes before striking an eagle on the 17th, a sequence that ultimately proved decisive in sealing her fourth victory of 2026.

I'm so happy. Today my shot, my putting, everything was feeling so good. I had trust in my game. I like this course,

Yamashita said after her triumph. She added:

It's my first time playing this tournament and I'm so happy to win, and I also didn't think I could win so many times, so I'm happy about that.

This triumph represents Yamashita's second title on the Ladies European Tour, following her victory at the 2025 AIG Women's Open. According to SBS News, the tournament purse was $2 million, with Yamashita claiming the winner's prize of $300,000.

Kouskova produced an outstanding performance in her own right, finishing in solo second place on 19-under-par after also firing a course record of 63 (-9) at New Korea Country Club. According to Golf Digest Middle East, Kouskova expressed satisfaction with her round, feeling she could not have played much better despite falling short of Yamashita's pace. Her runner-up finish proved significant for her season trajectory, as RTE Sport reported that she rose from 13th to eighth in the LET Order of Merit.

Hong Kong's Ginnie Ding and Chinese Taipei's Yani Tseng shared third place on 16-under-par. Ding produced a bogey-free 66 (-6) on the final day to record her best-ever result on the LET.

The LET rookie duo of Anna Morgan from the United States and Stephanie Bunque of Australia finished tied for fifth place on 14-under-par. Morgan's tie for fifth proved particularly significant, as it moved her into first place in the LET Rookie of the Year standings.

China's Ruixin Liu and Korea's Hyo Joo Kim ended the week tied for seventh on 13-under-par, with Italy's Roberta Liti and France's Celine Herbin-Marshall one shot further back to complete the top 10.

Kim's tie for seventh marked a notable change in fortune for the South Korean player, who had won the tournament in both 2024 and 2025 before finishing outside the top positions this year.

The 2026 event served as the fourth of five PIF Global Series tournaments and was contested as an individual 72-hole competition without a concurrent team event, maintaining the format established for this season's international schedule.
