Julien Sale delivered a commanding performance in the final round to win the HotelPlanner Tour's Grand Final at Club de Golf Alcanada in Mallorca, finishing at 22 under par and four strokes ahead of the field. According to Sky Sports, the Frenchman's victory came in the season finale, where he had already secured his promotion to the DP World Tour before the week began.

Sale carded his second 65 of the tournament to reach his winning total, with The Golf News Net reporting that his four rounds of 66, 65, 70 and 65 totalled 266, earning him €85,000 from the €500,000 purse. Hamish Brown of Denmark narrowly held onto solo second place to capture the season-long Road to Mallorca rankings title, finishing at 18 under par.

Sale began the day with a one-stroke advantage and took control early with four birdies on the front nine. He extended his lead further with a gain on the par-five 12th hole before recording his only dropped shot of the day on the 13th. The 29-year-old responded impressively, collecting three birdies in his final six holes to secure his second HotelPlanner Tour victory of 2026, following his earlier triumph at the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge on home soil.

The Frenchman becomes the fifth player from France to win the Grand Final, joining Clément Sordet (2017), Benjamin Hebert (2014), Mike Lorenzo-Vera (2007) and Nicolas Joakimides (1997) in that honour.

Coming this week, I didn't have much stress because I knew I was inside the top 15 and the goal was to win the tournament and obviously try to finish number one on the ranking. I was going to have fun already tonight but now I'm going to enjoy it even more with my family here.

Sale ends the year second in the overall rankings and will now step up to the DP World Tour for the first time in his career.

Brown claims Road to Mallorca crown

Brown's closing five-under 67 in Alcúdia secured him the season-long title, making him the fifth Dane to win the Road to Mallorca. He joins Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen (2024), Marcus Helligkilde (2021), Joachim B Hansen (2018) and Thomas Bjørn (1995) in achieving that feat.

The 27-year-old held onto solo second place after South African MJ Daffue's birdie putt slid by on the 72nd hole. The Golf News Net confirmed that Daffue finished third at 17 under and earned back DP World Tour playing privileges for next season.

It means a lot. It's been a proper grind again. Ultimately, I couldn't win today thanks to a good Frenchman who played extremely well.

It's just a day where you can't really control your thoughts. All you're thinking about is what they need to do or what's going to happen.

It gives me a lot of confidence. I had a tough year last year on the DP World Tour, but I wasn't too far away, I thought.

It's just moments throughout a season that need to go your way and I'm not scared of it for next year. I'm quite looking forward to it because I know what it what it is now. I know what I need to do and not to do.

I'm trying to just expect more of myself.

South Africa's MJ Daffue, who won twice at the start of the year in South Africa and India, rounded out the top five, with Spaniard Pablo Ereño securing sixth position.

Tapio Pulkkanen of Finland finished seventh and returns to the DP World Tour at the first time of asking. He was joined in the top 15 by Adam Wallin in eighth place, Liam Nolan in ninth and John Gough in tenth.
