Windsor hosts Monday Night Racing

Monday's Flat racing card takes in Windsor, Lingfield and Wolverhampton, with Sky Sports Racing broadcasting live from Windsor, headlined by an intriguing maiden clash between Mithaaly, Fairy Well and Nobelos.

According to the latest Racing TV racecard, Mithaaly is installed as the market's likely winner for the 17:55 at Windsor, with Fairy Well and Nobelos flagged as his principal dangers.

5.55 Windsor - Mithaaly bids to get off the mark

Billy Loughnane takes the reins on Mithaaly as the George Boughey-trained colt bids to break his maiden tag in the Play The Matchbook Match 6 Maiden Stakes.

The 260,000gns purchase remains without a win from two starts, but he has caught the eye both times out. On his most recent run at Yarmouth he finished half a length behind Rocket Boy, who has since franked that form emphatically by finishing third in the Stonehenge Stakes at Salisbury.

Adding further context to his profile, the racecard details relayed by The Sun show that Mithaaly had already been runner-up on his debut over course and distance before repeating that placed effort at Yarmouth.

Among those with racecourse experience, Fairy Well stands out as the yardstick on the form book, having produced two encouraging performances. She was beaten at Leicester by Coat Of Red, who subsequently underlined the strength of that form by running close up behind the sharp two-year-olds Evenfall and Sorrengail at Newbury.

Nobelos is expected to pose the toughest test among the first-time starters after being bought for €110,000 at the Goffs Orby Sale, and punters may glean useful clues by watching how he is treated in the betting.

The Windsor fixture carries plenty of weight in the two-year-old ranks, with the At The Races card confirming it is a Class 4 event run exclusively for juveniles over 6f 12y, offering a winner's prize of £5,400 to the field, which numbers either 11 or 16 runners depending on final declarations.

6.55 Windsor - Unexposed Ray Mon Dough headlines handicap

Ray Mon Dough flashed genuine smart-horse potential when winning easily on his two-year-old debut last November, and having still not shown his hand fully, he steps up in tonight's Matchbook Loves Racing Handicap.

He has needed time to reach peak fitness this season, but ran with credit when finishing second to Behike, an exciting type who has since gone on to win at Listed level. A trip to Chester in July did not suit him, yet he underlined his ability when winning comfortably with a fresh tongue strap fitted at Leicester. On that evidence, he ought to give the handicapper more to think about after today.

Waistcoat impressed with a win at Newbury last month and, despite climbing in class, remains capable of running well. Under The Twilight and Cashbox arguably arrive with stronger recent form, both having finished in the places at Glorious Goodwood.

Amazonian Dream found conditions too sharp at the end of July but, dropped back in grade for Rod Millman's yard, this course specialist cannot be ruled out. The mare was previously the subject of Sky Sports Racing preview coverage when she bid for back-to-back success at the same track in late July, a race in which she headlined a Monday card alongside Sharp Move and Masked Warrior.

8.10 Wolverhampton - James Choice and Prince Of Calypso renew rivalry

The progressive pairing of James Choice and Prince Of Calypso resume their rivalry in the Follow @attheraces On Instagram Handicap.

Prince Of Calypso shrugged off a below-par run at Thirsk to continue his upward trajectory when battling on well for third in a 14-runner handicap at Southwell last month.

In that same contest, James Choice arguably caught the eye more, clocking the fastest finishing speed in the field at 111.87% to get the better of his rival close to the line. That form should translate well over the extra furlong on offer today, with the pair putting almost four lengths into the fourth home and finishing only behind the progressive Sir Mark Prescott-trained stayer Roc De Fer.

Per the latest Racing TV odds, James Choice is sent off market leader at 9/4, with Prince Of Calypso next in the betting at 5/1.

Clansman could prove a live threat dropped markedly in grade, although he is now down to his lowest mark for some time. Optician and Joseph are fairly consistent sorts and ought to run solid races to complete a well-contested renewal.

The At The Races card confirms this is a Class 5 handicap run over 1m 4f 51y on the Tapeta surface, with 11 runners declared and a winning prize of £3,978 up for grabs.
