Monday's flat racing programme takes in Lingfield, Windsor and Wolverhampton, with Sky Sports Racing broadcasting live from Windsor throughout the evening.
According to Racing Post's racecards page, Monday's meetings run to the following schedule: Lingfield 14:30-17:00, Windsor 17:20-19:55 and Wolverhampton 17:10-20:10. Separately, Lingfield Park's own listings state that gates open at 13:00 for the afternoon fixture on 17 August 2026, with the first race off at 14:30.
5.55 Windsor - Mithaaly chases his first win
Billy Loughnane takes the reins on Mithaaly as the George Boughey-trained colt attempts to break his maiden tag in the Play The Matchbook Match 6 Maiden Stakes.
Bought for 260,000gns, Mithaaly has yet to taste victory in two starts, but both runs have hinted at better to come. He was beaten just half a length by Rocket Boy at Yarmouth on his most recent outing, and that rival subsequently ran a big race to finish third in the Stonehenge Stakes at Salisbury.
Among the experienced runners, Fairy Well looks the yardstick on the strength of two solid performances. She was notably beaten by Coat Of Red at Leicester, a form line that has since been given a boost after Coat Of Red ran close behind the smart pair of Evenfall and Sorrengail at Newbury.
Nobelos is likely to pose the biggest threat among the first-time starters, having cost €110,000 at the Goffs Orby Sale, and his market position could offer a useful pointer to those watching the betting.
6.55 Windsor - Ray Mon Dough headlines Windsor handicap
Ray Mon Dough flashed real promise when winning easily on his two-year-old debut last November, and he remains lightly raced heading into tonight's Matchbook Loves Racing Handicap.
He has needed time to reach his peak form this season, finishing second to the exciting Behike - who has since won a Listed race. Chester's track did not suit him in July, but he underlined his ability when winning comfortably with a tongue strap fitted for the first time at Leicester. On today's evidence he should still be operating within his comfort zone against the handicapper.
Confirming that Leicester form, Racing and Sports' result data shows Ray Mon Dough claimed victory in a Leicester handicap on 9 August 2026, the very run that has fuelled confidence in his continued progression.
Waistcoat impressed with a win at Newbury last month and, despite stepping up in grade, should still give a good account of himself. Under The Twilight and Cashbox both arrive with arguably sturdier form, having placed at Glorious Goodwood.
Amazonian Dream was found out by a stronger field at the end of July but remains a course specialist for Rod Millman's yard, and a drop back in class could bring him back into contention.
Amazonian Dream previously featured prominently in an earlier Windsor preview when he was chasing back-to-back victories on the course, underlining his long-standing affinity with the track.
8.10 Wolverhampton - James Choice and Prince Of Calypso clash again
The in-form pair of James Choice and Prince Of Calypso resume their rivalry in the Follow @attheraces On Instagram Handicap at Wolverhampton.
Prince Of Calypso shrugged off a disappointing run at Thirsk to continue his upward curve, finishing third in a 14-runner handicap at Southwell last month.
In that same race James Choice caught the eye even more, clocking the fastest finishing speed of the field at 111.87% to get the better of his rival at the line. With this outing coming over an extra furlong that should suit him well, and having beaten the fourth-placed horse by nearly four lengths, James Choice was only denied by the progressive Sir Mark Prescott-trained stayer Roc De Fer.
Clansman could be competitive with a significant drop in grade, though this remains the lowest mark he has raced off in some time.
Optician and Joseph both look fairly consistent performers and should turn in solid efforts to complete a well-contested renewal.
Elsewhere on the card
Magical Life bids to follow up an eye-catching six-length success at Kempton when she steps out in the opening Free Bets On attheraces.com Nursery Handicap at Lingfield. William Cox takes the ride on the Territories filly, who has been raised 6lb by the handicapper for that Kempton win, leaving it to be seen whether she can cope with the extra weight.
On the continental card, Clairefontaine stages the Listed Prix Des Enfoires at 5.30pm, where former UK-based jockey Bryony Le Clerc (Frost) is engaged to ride Inner Success.
What happens next
Windsor's Matchbook Loves Racing Handicap is confirmed to run on 17 August 2026, with Ray Mon Dough among the confirmed runners and already showing in morning prices, according to Sporting Life's racecard.
