Worcester is the venue for today's live action over jumps

Monday's racing calendar brings a full slate of action across three venues, with Sky Sports Racing providing live coverage from Newcastle, Worcester and Yarmouth.

Worcester: Potters Charm targets successful chasing debut

The feature race at Worcester comes in the shape of the Paul Ferguson's Jumpers to Follow Novices' Chase, where Potters Charm will make his first attempt over fences. The horse enjoyed a largely successful novice hurdle campaign, suffering just a single defeat before being stepped up in class last season. He struggled when pitched into open company but returned to the winner's enclosure in January at Windsor, before recording a significant victory at Grade Two level in the National Spirit Hurdle at Fontwell.

Connections have consistently held high expectations that Potters Charm will prove most effective over the larger obstacles, and he appears the clear favourite for this assignment. The Class 3 novices' chase over two miles and seven furlongs carries a winner's prize of £9,803, providing a valuable opportunity for the chasing debutant to announce himself as a force in the discipline.

Jupiter des Mottes represents an interesting challenger, having shown solid form over hurdles and notably winning a respectable handicap hurdle at Perth in April. His chasing debut came back in November 2025, but he did not adapt well to fences on that occasion. However, the step up to three miles combined with a switch to top trainer Dan Skelton suggests a much improved effort is on the cards, with the longer distance potentially suiting his running style.

Who's Glen brings experience over fences to the contest and will be hoping to capitalise if either of the front two falter. Nick Scholfield's charge has run respectably in chase company and could prove a threat if the favourites disappoint.

Vicomte le Brave, an Irish pointer, makes his rules debut in the race.

Newcastle: Starburster bids to continue impressive form in nursery

At Newcastle, the Follow @attheraces On Instagram Nursery Handicap provides the platform for Starburster to make her handicap debut. The Richard Spencer-trained filly has impressed in her early career, catching the eye with a fourth-place finish on her debut before stepping up significantly when winning at Newbury on her second start.

That victory at Newbury demonstrated a willing attitude, with Starburster getting the better of Bidsta, who has since won twice since that race, strengthening the form behind Starburster's nursery debut. With an opening handicap mark of 82, the filly's unexposed profile and strong early form suggest she should prove competitive in this contest.

Starburster's rivals include Innichen, who boasts considerable experience in nurseries at major meetings and should perform well in calmer conditions. Blazing Inferno will be looking to bounce back after finishing last in the Weatherbys 2-Y-O Stakes at York, where a poor draw in stall 15 may have hindered her chances.

Siouxperb could potentially be underestimated. The colt disappointed in the Coventry following an impressive debut, but subsequently ran well to finish a close second to a promising type in Sonic Angel. The Acomb Stakes proved beyond him, and he did not appear to handle the soft ground at Ayr. A return to the all-weather combined with a two-pound drop in the handicap could see him rediscover his best form.

Minzelle has been given plenty of opportunities in Listed company following her eye-catching early performances. She has been sent off favourite in her last three starts but has failed to deliver the expected results.

Starburster went on to win the nursery, with Innichen and Minzelle completing the frame, demonstrating the strength of her performance in the contest.

Yarmouth: Status Symbol steps up in trip

The British EBF Restricted Novice Stakes at Yarmouth features Status Symbol, who will attempt to build on a promising debut when stepping up in distance to ten furlongs. The Ed Walker-trained two-year-old caught the eye when finishing fourth on his debut at 50-1, and Walker's juveniles typically improve considerably for their first experience.

Status Symbol, a son of Space Blues, looks certain to progress now that he gets the extra yardage, with his dam having won over a mile and a half, suggesting the extended trip should suit his pedigree.

Able Tasman remains the only winner in the field, having recorded a victory after a four-month absence on his second start. That success came at the expense of Deira Moon, who he will face again here. Deira Moon ran on well on that occasion despite being hampered in the closing stages, and he subsequently produced his best effort to date when finishing second at Goodwood. A seven-pound penalty for Able Tasman could narrow the gap between the pair.

Quintillion showed marked improvement on his second start when encountering the smart Wykehurst Park. The step up to ten furlongs should play to his strengths, and he represents a bold bid to break his maiden tag.

Good Job and Spong Hill make their debuts, with Good Job holding the more promising pedigree as a half-brother to dual Group Two winner Opal Tiara.

Best of the rest

Newcastle's card also features several other competitive contests. Debut winner Ella Beach faces Indhaar at 4.28, while a trappy fillies' handicap follows at 5.00. Impressive debut winner Great Balls O'Fire aims to bounce back at 5.30, before Juan Les Pins and Mae Amor clash at 6.30. The day concludes with a competitive 0-75 handicap at 7.00.

At Worcester, an informative mares' handicap chase takes place at 3.37, with progressive Kykorock headlining for the Skeltons at 4.07 and Big Cadillac featuring for the same stable at 4.37.

Yarmouth's supporting card includes an informative novice stakes at 1.54, a race won by Sallaal in 2024, while Yokohama and Newton Duke feature in a competitive contest at 2.54.
