Sky Sports Racing turns its cameras to Windsor and Lingfield on Thursday evening, with both tracks serving up competitive cards from early evening through to the closing races.
According to Racing TV, Windsor stages six races across the evening, running from 17:36 through to 20:11 on going officially described as good to firm.
Windsor 7.41 - Law Court and City Of Poets set to headline
The RIP Susan Procter Memorial Handicap brings together Law Court and City Of Poets alongside a trio of horses arriving in form. Racecard data from At The Races shows the contest is run as a Class 3 event for three-year-olds and upwards over one mile two furlongs, with eight declared runners and £9,631 heading to the winning connections. His last two efforts at Sandown - one of which was a win on Brigadier Gerard night - should give his supporters plenty of encouragement heading into Thursday's race.
Elsewhere in the field, A Major Payne, Bold Impact and Parlando have all struck form with wins last time out and sit on workable marks. A Major Payne's course-and-distance victory was particularly eye-catching, suggesting the step up in grade won't necessarily stop him mounting a serious challenge under Billy Loughnane, who remains in pursuit of his first jockeys' championship title.
King's Code shouldn't be dismissed either, dropping in grade following his Chester win last month, while Auld Toon Loon returns to the mark he last won on over course and distance back in August, after a respectable eighth-placed finish in the John Smith's Cup. Box To Box, meanwhile, faces a stiffer task on firmer ground having been off the track for 11 months, though he remains competitively weighted.
Adding further colour to conditions on the night, going stick readings of 7.2 were recorded for the 7.41 contest, with At The Races describing the weather as mostly sunny with no rainfall. The same race carries GBBPlus status with no draw advantage, according to HorseRacing.net. Prize money is confirmed at £9,631 to the winner, £4,519 for second and £2,258 for third, per At The Races.
Windsor 7.11 - Waterford Castle takes on Amo's costly recruit
Waterford Castle drops into more forgiving company for the Matchbook Betting Exchange Supporting UK Racing Maiden Stakes, where he lines up against Amo Racing's Partying, a filly who cost 4.4m guineas.
George Boughey's Waterford Castle is the only rated horse in this field and arrives at Windsor still searching for a breakthrough win after ten starts. On the bare form he might look moderate, but he has repeatedly found himself up against classy opposition in tough races.
Both his starts this season ended in defeat despite being sent off odds-on, though the winner of his second such contest went on to land a valuable prize at Sandown. This gelding also finished runner-up to subsequent Shergar Cup winner Archers Bay and held his own in mid-division in Royal Ascot's King George V Stakes - form that looks increasingly strong given winner Enceladus has since claimed a Group Three and runner-up Al Azd followed up with an impressive victory at Ascot, earning a rating of 109.
Partying represents the obvious threat. This daughter of Frankel, out of Aljazzi, is unproven but worth monitoring in the betting market on her debut. Thatcham could also have claims on his return from a break - Richard Hannon's runner never featured at Southwell last time but may improve for a switch to turf with Pat Dobbs taking the ride.
Lingfield 7.28 - Shangri La faces eye-catching Neswick
Over at Lingfield, Shangri La squares up to the promising Neswick in the Become a Friend of Racing Welfare Fillies' Novice Stakes.
Kirsten Rausing's three-year-old aims to shed her maiden tag after an encouraging comeback run at Wolverhampton, where she finished fifth on her handicap debut. This St Mark's Basilica filly could be helped by dropping back in trip with Callum Shepherd on board, and her pedigree points towards further improvement over middle distances as she matures - factors that make her the one to beat back in novice company.
John and Thady Gosden's Dove Tale showed improvement on her first start of the season just a week ago, finishing runner-up under Rab Havlin at Kempton. A half-sister to German Derby runner-up Diamond Dove, she looks capable of building on that effort.
Neswick, despite a modest pedigree, put in an impressive display over course and distance on her debut and could prove awkward to beat, particularly if she takes another step forward for that experience.
